COMPANY OVERVIEW

Hyperion Systems is an Australian advanced manufacturing company delivering containerised large-format additive manufacturing and robotic production systems for defence, maritime and heavy industry. We design and deploy modular manufacturing cells capable of polymer Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF) and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), enabling rapid production of large structural components, tooling, and sustainment parts at or near the point of need. Our systems address critical defence challenges including long supply chains, obsolete parts, shipyard capacity constraints, and the need for sovereign industrial resilience. Through our distributed manufacturing model — the Hyperion Grid — qualified digital part libraries can be securely deployed across multiple nodes, enabling rapid, repeatable production across allied networks. Operating from our Industrial Additive & Robotics Centre (HIARC), Hyperion provides R&D, prototyping, qualification support, training, and full system integration. Our mission is to build sovereign, scalable, and deployable manufacturing capability that strengthens AUKUS-aligned defence supply chains across Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

PRODUCTS

  • Containerised large-format polymer FGF manufacturing cells (deployable, shorebased or shipyard integration)
  • WAAM robotic cells for metal structural components and sustainment parts
  • Rapid production of maritime tooling, moulds, jigs, fixtures and composite layup forms
  • On-demand manufacture of large polymer structures (USV/UUV hull sections, fairings, ducting, enclosures)
  • Additive manufacture of non-critical and legacy replacement parts to reduce obsolescence risk
  • Digital parts library development and secure distributed manufacturing deployment
  • Point-of-need manufacturing for forward operating bases and remote sustainment environments
  • Robotics integration (ABB, KUKA) for additive and subtractive hybrid manufacturing workflows
  • Qualification support, material validation and mechanical testing
  • Defence-aligned R&D programs and collaborative prototyping
  • Training and workforce development in large-format additive and robotic systems
  • System design, installation and commissioning of turnkey additive manufacturing facilities
  • Recycled and glass-filled polymer material processing for high-strength structural applications
  • Sovereign supply chain capability building under AUKUS-aligned programs

DISCRIMINATORS

  • Containerised, rapidly deployable manufacturing cells (not fixed factory infrastructure)
  • Integrated polymer FGF and WAAM capability under one platform
  • Large-format production (metre-scale structural components, not small AM parts)
  • Distributed manufacturing model enabling allied network deployment (Australia–United States–United Kingdom)
  • Commercially scalable leasing model enabling fast adoption without heavy capex
