COMPANY OVERVIEW

MagStealth, where innovation meets evolving technologies. Our systems provide breakthrough solutions for the management of magnetic signatures, essential for the protection of assets and personnel in the rapidly changing Defence Industry. MagStealth is a commercialisation venture of Australian company Gray Area Consultants Pty Ltd and Swiss company STL Systems AG with more than 50 years combined, in developing solutions to complex measurement tasks using innovative and cost-optimised EM sensors and systems and designing and constructing sub-sea and near-shore solutions extending to custom engineering and manufacturing. MagStealth delivers quantum improvements to the process and speed of the treatment of magnetic signatures of all naval assets, within Australia and Worldwide.

PRODUCTS

  • Our maritime magnetic treatment facilities, named StealthDock, provide a more streamlined process to increase stealth for naval assets.
  • StealthDock is truly multi-class, with the range of vessels treated only limited by the selected dimensions of the facility.
  • Based on breakthrough travelling field technology, the system uses seabedmounted coils to deliver baseline deperming, 3D simulation, and degaussing system calibration. All enabled by precise centre-line vessel positioning during treatment and without the need for de-arming or de-crewing.
  • With MagStealth treatments, turnarounds happen in hours instead of weeks at a lower cost and with less risk.
  • The need for separate ranging is also eliminated because treatments incorporate live magnetic signal sensor feedback.
  • Efficiencies are unprecedented; this reduction in time and cost is achieved via highly advanced and patented travelling field magnetics, which are incorporated into compatible and optimised marine infrastructure.

DISCRIMINATORS

The challenges addressed:

  • Magnetic signal management is an increasingly critical protection for operational naval assets as more and more sensitive detection technologies are deployed on more and more platforms
  • Existing facilities are typically aging; costly to operate; can only deliver one type of treatment; involve long downtimes; require de-crewing and de-arming; and expose assets to a high level of risk
  • As navies expand, they will require magnetic treatment for a greater number of vessels, more frequently, and across a wider range of operational settings
