Ocius Technology Ltd is an Australian public unlisted company with manufacturing and R&D facilities in Sydney, Australia. Ocius has a solid track record of conceiving, funding, and delivering innovative, high‑tech, award‑winning projects on time and within budget. Ocius has built multiple Solar Sailor prototypes and six high‑tech, award‑winning, hybrid‑electric commercial passenger ferries, which have collectively carried tens of thousands of passengers. Following an enquiry from the United States in 2007 for a “platform that could go to sea forever”, Ocius began research into uncrewed solar, wind, and wave‑powered ocean vessels, also known as autonomous uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). This capability has since matured into a sovereign defence solution, with Ocius awarded a AUD$176 million contract by the Royal Australian Navy to deliver a persistent anti‑submarine warfare (ASW) capability, demonstrating the operational credibility, scalability, and strategic relevance of Ocius’s autonomous maritime technology.
The Bluebottle USV is a 24‑foot persistent uncrewed surface vessel, powered by solar, wind, and wave energy. It is designed to deliver continuous surface and sub‑surface intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) without the need for crewed operations. Using an integrated payload of radar, electro‑optical cameras, and thin‑line towed array acoustic sensors, the BB USV enables long‑duration monitoring of designated maritime areas, supporting persistent situational awareness.
